Happy Birthday to Zachary

It's Zachary's 8th birthday today! Zachary is our first born grandson. And let me tell you, we were so happy when we found that Zach was a baby boy. Our first 2 grandchildren were girls, so you can only imagine how excited to have Zachary join our family. Zach is the nicest boy, always trying to do his best. Here are just a few of the many reasons Zachary is so special: Zach wakes up every morning and cleans his bedroom, gets dressed and fixes breakfast for his 2 younger brothers and himself. Not because he has to, but because he likes to. You can bet your boots his mom appreciates this act of kindness for his brothers. As you can see in the pictures, Zachary is a happy kid. He is a smiler too! His mom and dad are going to have to be on the lookout when Zach gets older, because he's a cutie. Back off girls!! Zach is very polite and considerate of others and their feelings. He never wants anyone to feel left out or sad. Zach is a peacemaker, and a very good big brother. Zach and his brother Nick are the best play mates, always doing things together. We went to a play place, and Zach made sure his littlest brother Josh was ok, and held his hand and helped him through tunnels and down slides. Zachary is a FAST runner, and can changes directions from running forward to backward, to sideways quick, quick, quick. That's why he is so good at football. Zach tries his best to do a good job in everything he does. Zachary loves his dads home made tacos! And next he likes to eat Wild Buffalo Wings. Now, as I said this is just a few things that make Zachary special. The list goes on and on. We love you so much Zachary, and hope you have a "GR8T" birthday.

Happy Birthday Sadie! It seems like yesterday you were born at 4lbs 3oz. I called you "Love Bug" because you were so tiny, cute as a bug, and a sweet little baby to love. That name stuck and you will always be my little Love Bug.

You are our adventurous grandchild. You have an imagination like Anne (with an E) Shirley's in Anne of Green Gables. You are a very smart and talented girl, a good horse rider, great on roller blades, a good reader, a fun little girl, and a blessing to our family. Grandpa and I wish you a very happy day today.

What a great time we had with our Buchanan families on Halloween. We love having Courtneys mom, sister and her family come over for Halloween - a tradition we hope goes on for years. We like to strart the night with our Zucchini "Halloween Soup"..... So yummy and good. The kids got a good meal before all the candy, donuts and hot chocolate.

Jordyn Kelly turns 6

Happy Birthday 6 year old Jordyn. What a blessing Jordyn is to our family. Jojo has the softest, sweetest voice, and the cutest little giggle. Jordyn is our little nature girl. Loves to eat her fruits and vegetables, eats very little meat and loves chocolate, and her occasional limon potato chips. Jojo, thanks for choosing such a good birthday dinner - green beans, cucumbers, carrots and chicken bones. Here are some of my favorite pictures of you. The Cutest 1 Year Old Birthday Baby

I know, my grandkids are all cuties, but take a look at this little baby Lindsey. And to top it off she is the sweetest grandbaby around. I keep waiting for Jess and Chase to break her in, but to date they have not succeeded.

Typical Saturday

Horray for Zach!! He played such a good football game today. What a good job blocking, and Zach is a FAST runner.

We were sad Nick was sick today and couldn't play. We missed him and Josh and Courtney. Zach and Nick are taking after their dad in the camping and hunting department.

We got home just in time for Paige, James, and Abigail who were ready to swim, play games, create, and decorate. While Abbey took her her nap, Grandpa and James played Zingo and Chinese Checkers. Paige brought over all the necessary items to make ghosts, and had plans to decorate with them. Great and fun idea Paige!

During this time, we found that Sadie won first prize and a blue ribbon for her Rum Cake in the school fair, Jordyn won first prize and a blue ribbon for her Apple Dumplings AND a picture she drew. Great work girls. We are proud of you! Cody got to help his mom work a booth in the fair.

Tonight we get to see Chase, Jess and Lindsey. They are growing up so fast. Jess can make a tower taller than she is. Lindsey is now walking and is going to be 1 next week. Chase is loving to spend time with his 2 dogs, Zoey and Penney.

What a Saturday! We will sleep like babies tonight!!

Good Times at Disneyland (again and again........)

Here we are ALONE at the big Disneyland. We have year passports and decided to make good use of them before they expire. And a big thank you to our daughter-in-law Maren for sharing her employment benefits at Marriott with us for rooms at a ridiculously low price. We love you and appreciate you! We will gladly watch your kids while you work at Marriott, as it benefits us as well.

For those of you who know us well, we frequent Disneyland several times a year. This is actually our first trip alone EVER at the D which was kind of a shock to be alone at a place we share so much fun with our children and grandchildren. But we soon found that we could have a good time by ourselves. We still kinda like each other after 21 years of marriage.

Ron and I recently celebrated our 21st anniversary, so we thought this would be a good weekend to get away for a few days. The last get away was to our friends Shari and Steve's wedding - much too long ago. Here's to a great weekend Ronaldo!! I love you!

We started out our weekend with Zach and Nicks first Pop Warner football game of the season. What awesome players they are. Most of the weekend was spent at our house making play dough, swimming, watching movies, celebrating Josh's 3rd and Nicks 6th birthday, playing games, making Shrek Shakes (thumbs up for Shrek Shakes), and lots more. Zach, Nick and Josh made our weekend such fun. What well behaved, nice, fun boys they are. Thanks for coming to visit, and thanks to your mom and dad for celebrating their 10th anniversary so we could have you over. We love you all!

Weekend with Dad

Ron and I drove up to St. Johns and spend the weekend with my dad. For those of you who don't know Bert Farr, he is the most interesting, wise, and loving person around. We spent the day Saturday with a drive up to Nutrioso, where Dad showed us stately barns and beautiful houses built by family members long ago. We then drove by Tal Wi Wi Lodge and remembered old times when we stayed there, and ended up in Alpine with a delicious lunch at Bear Wallow Restaurant. Great home made food and yummy cherry and rhubarb pie with ice cream for dessert. The weather was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous. It was so nice breathing all that fresh air. We rested, visited and enjoyed every minute of the weekend. Thanks Dad for the fun time. We love you!!

Sleep Over????

Recently, James and Paige came for a (one night) sleep over. Paige brought her suitcase filled with : 1 nightgown, 1 pair of panties, 1 outfit for the next day, daily scripture calendar along with everything under the sun to decorate the room in which she stays in.

James suitcase overflowed with: 12 pair of shorts, 4 tee shirts, 8 pair briefs, 1 pajama top, and an umbrella. Which one is worried about being prepared, and which is worried about making sleeping quarters comfy?

We love our grandkids, and the fact that they love to come stay with us. We can't wait for next weekend to post about Zach, Nick, and Josh for their sleep over.

Nauvoo Trip

Here are a few pics from our Nauvoo trip. My dad, Ron, Mary Beth, Jeanne, Winnie, and I just got back. The weather was beautiful and so was the scenery. We really enjoyed eachothers company. Nauvoo was an experience I will never forget. Of the many sites we saw home steads of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, Carthage Jail, and the Nauvoo temple which was georgeous. We also went to Branson and saw several shows there. It is hard for me to express my appreciation for the time we spent together there with my family, and for the sweet spirit felt at Nauvoo. It was fun to see the Winslow Farr home. Winslow Farr would be my 4th Great Grandfather. (sorry for the duplicates...I am still new at blogging)
